Fire Chief Laughs Off Mold Complaint, Fire Station Closes

Fox 8 in North Carolina caught Fire Chief David Taylor in a lie, or what he refers to as a “miscommunication.” A few weeks ago, a serious mold issue was discovered in the Station 12 in High Point. The AC units on the roof leaked over the summer, causing moisture to leak through the roof and dampen ceiling tiles above a sleeping area. The mold was tested and found to be dangerous. Station 12 was closed down for cleaning and the three firefighters were relocated.

What Is the Difference Between a Firehouse and a Schoolhouse?

An inspection revealed a leak hidden behind the shower wall dripped into the electrical room where the highest levels of mold growth were found. Here, the mold infiltrated the HVAC system and spread airborne toxins throughout the three-story building. The firefighters have temporarily moved to a downtown station five miles away while the Fellowship Fire Station has been shut down until the mold can be removed.
