Mold Allies with Illegal Narcotics

The above blog headline may be a little misleading, but is still a little true. growing inside a drug vault in Louisville Kentucky has become so severe that anyone who enters the area is hit with severe chronic illnesses.

Out of the two employees who work in the vault, 100% of them have experienced toxic mold symptoms including rashes, , spontaneous nosebleeds, even neurological issues. Visitors have also complained about unexplained symptoms when entering the vault.

In March, Louisville Metro Administration investigated and found growing on the surface of cardboard boxes containing moist marijuana plants. After the initial study, the LMPD was asked to look at the environmental concerns and develop a plan to fix the situation. But a second visit in July showed that the LMPD did not ensure that conditions promoting the growth of were corrected.

The vault contains an endless supply of marijuana, cocaine, and prescription drugs seized by Louisville police. This is why the facility is extremely secure. I wonder if making the vault so physically secure contributed to the mold problem by now allowing proper ventilation. An updated ventilation for the vault is being considered to improve indoor .

The two workers were finally issued respirators and had their desks moved outside the vault. They are a little upset that this wasn’t done earlier. The employees asked to be transferred out of the vault repeatedly.

In this case, the problem is still a mystery and may not actually be the culprit. Although was found growing on boxes, air tests show there isn’t airborne to inhale. would have to be inhaled for it to cause any symptoms. It’s possible that the stored prescription pills, cocaine, or other drugs are causing the problem.
