Enzyme based mold removal has been gradually gaining favor with the government and in scientific communities for its effectiveness in mold removal. While experts agree that enzymes remove mold with less intrusion, deconstruction, and cost than other available methods, the public is still apprehensive about the idea of introducing a foreign enzyme into an occupied space.
But the truth is that it is all about the enzyme. Different mold removal companies use different products. The enzyme we use is a formulation of naturally-occurring enzymes that are 100% natural, 100% organic, and 100% safe. The enzyme is breathable, and not environmentally-hazardous, flammable, or dangerous in any way. Even when remediation crews are applying the enzyme as a fog in a office building, it poses no danger to the workers once applied and business may continue as usual – although it may be a little inconvenient.
You don’t have to take our word for it. Many thorough studies on the enzyme were performed before it was approved.
A volatile organic compound (VOC) test performed by OSHA and the Massachusetts Division of Occupational onsite Consultation program showed the product to be safe for humans and pets before and after remediation.
The five naturally-occurring enzymes found the technology were reviewed by GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc and are all listed as GRAS (Generally regarded as safe) for humans and animals by the FDA.
Our enzyme is certified by the EPA, meeting building codes for remediation.
Once the enzyme compound breaks down and eliminates the mold it dies and biodegrades itself. This leaves behind a fresh scent and an invisible, organic-based “barrier” or microbial coating that protects against future mold growth.
It is important to understand that even though the enzyme is applied and looks like a moldicide, it is definitely not a chemical. Some chemicals release toxic fumes which can be just as hazardous as the mold itself. Enzymes are safe for the environment as well as humans and animals. You can touch it, breathe it, even bake it in a cake and eat it without being harmed whatsoever. (Just kidding, we do NOT recommend this!)
In the end, I believe that mold is a natural problem that requires a natural solution.
